If I Didn’t Have The Internet I’d Fail 3/4 Of My Classes

Today I was thinking about the prevalence of the internet for every, single one of my classes. I have homework that is submitted online (try typing in math equations and answers on a computer – damn you antiderivatives), papers for class that must be printed out, online quizzes, and the use of e-mail constantly.

When did all of this happen? This technological linkage? Well, my math professor made an interesting point. The university decided to do online math homework so they wouldn’t have to hire extra TA’s to do all the paperwork. Wow. Only another way this school is separating the student for learning. Interactive modules my ass.

And another thing: ink cartridges are overpriced. Sometimes I print my papers out in dark blue. Don’t say you haven’t tried this….

  1. I’ve totally noticed this too! In one of my classes, we are required to read at least 8-10 articles a week online, and most of us end up printing them out because they are so hard to read on the computer! What’s worse, my prof said the reason we’re reading online is that he didn’t want to make us fork over the money for a reader! Oh, how that backfired. Now the class must stay on top of this week’s reading — printing it on our own paper, with our own ink – adding up to WAY more than it would have been to purchase a reader. Grr!
